PSA: if there was an album you heard a couple years ago and thought it was ok, listen to it again and you might love it. That's what happened to me with this album. I cannot fathom why it didn't stick with me back then. Same thing happened with Decoherence's Unitarity for that matter.

Prenez d'un côté l'idée d'un successeur à Alunar, un album déjà très bon à la base qui nous faisait accomplir une odyssée intergalactique jusqu'au néant ; ajoutez maintenant le fait de concevoir ce successeur en parallèle à l'enregistrement de Tchornobog. Buzzing swarms of cheerless, blackened, fuzzed-out atmospheric ambience. Funeral doom if it was reinterpreted by Stars of the Lid. This is a morose masterpiece swarming with thick blankets of melancholy beauty and majestic seance-like guitar squalls. I also like the other reviews that made art gallery associations, which, by dint of suggestion, resonated with my own listening experience. Highly recommended!
